Cleaners W5 Modern Slavery and Human Trafficking Policy
Cleaners W5 is committed to conducting all aspects of its business in an ethical, responsible, and transparent manner. This Modern Slavery Statement sets out the steps we take to prevent modern slavery and human trafficking in our operations and supply chains. It applies to all employees, contractors, agency workers, and suppliers engaged by Cleaners W5.
Our Commitment and Zero-Tolerance Policy
Cleaners W5 maintains a zero-tolerance approach to all forms of modern slavery, including forced labour, bonded labour, child labour, human trafficking, servitude, and any other form of exploitation. We are fully committed to acting ethically and with integrity in all business dealings and to implementing and enforcing effective systems and controls to ensure that modern slavery does not take place within our own operations or in any part of our supply chains.
We expect the same high standards from all our suppliers, subcontractors, and business partners. Any evidence of modern slavery or human trafficking within our supply chains will lead to decisive action, which may include suspension or termination of the business relationship.
Our Business and Supply Chains
Cleaners W5 provides professional cleaning services across residential and commercial properties. Our supply chains include providers of cleaning products and equipment, employment and recruitment agencies, facilities management partners, and other service providers who support the delivery of our cleaning operations.
We recognise that some areas of our supply chain may present higher risks of modern slavery, particularly where lower-skilled or temporary labour is used, or where products are sourced from regions with weaker labour protections. We are committed to identifying, assessing, and mitigating these risks on an ongoing basis.
Due Diligence and Supplier Audits
To reduce the risk of modern slavery in our supply chains, Cleaners W5 undertakes proportionate due diligence on existing and potential suppliers. This process includes assessing suppliers policies, practices, and track record in relation to labour standards and human rights.
We reserve the right to conduct audits of suppliers, either directly or through third parties, to verify compliance with our modern slavery expectations. Supplier audits may include site visits, discussions with management and workers, and review of employment records and working conditions. Suppliers are expected to cooperate fully with these audits and to provide accurate and timely information.
Where issues are identified, we will work collaboratively with suppliers to implement corrective action plans, including clear timelines and follow-up reviews. However, if a supplier is unwilling or unable to address serious concerns, Cleaners W5 may suspend or cease the relationship.
Training, Awareness, and Responsibilities
Responsibility for overseeing this Modern Slavery Statement and related procedures rests with the senior management team of Cleaners W5. Managers are responsible for promoting awareness of modern slavery risks and ensuring that relevant controls are implemented and monitored in their areas of responsibility.
We aim to provide appropriate guidance and information to employees, particularly those involved in recruitment, procurement, and supplier management, so they can recognise the signs of modern slavery and understand how to respond to concerns. Everyone working for Cleaners W5 is expected to act with integrity and to uphold our zero-tolerance position.
Reporting Concerns and Whistleblowing
Cleaners W5 encourages all employees, contractors, and suppliers to report any concerns or suspicions relating to modern slavery or human trafficking at the earliest opportunity. Reports can be made to a line manager or to senior management. Individuals raising concerns will be treated with respect and sensitivity.
We will investigate all reports thoroughly and, where appropriate, take action that may include engaging with the supplier, notifying relevant authorities, or adjusting our business relationships. Cleaners W5 does not tolerate victimisation or retaliation against anyone who raises a concern in good faith, even if it is not upheld following investigation.
Monitoring, Review, and Continuous Improvement
Cleaners W5 is committed to continually improving our approach to preventing modern slavery. We monitor the effectiveness of our policies, due diligence measures, and supplier engagement activities, and we use this insight to refine our processes over time.
This Modern Slavery Statement is reviewed at least annually by senior management to ensure it remains current, effective, and aligned with best practice and legal requirements. Where necessary, we will update the statement to reflect changes in our business, our supply chains, or the regulatory environment.
This statement reflects the commitment of Cleaners W5 to maintaining high standards of ethical conduct and to working towards the eradication of modern slavery and human trafficking in our operations and supply chains.
